Francois Leroux accepts League Commissioner’s post of the MAHL

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced today that Francois Leroux has accepted the league’s offer to assume the position of League Commissioner.  Leroux will take over the position of Commissioner on August 1, 2008.

Chelsea Tornadoes announce ownership group

CHELSEA, MI – The Chelsea Tornadoes of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced today the sale of the team to Twisted Investments, LLC.  The sale and ownership of the Tornadoes was completed over the July 4th weekend and announced at the team’s offices in Chelsea. 

Representatives of Twisted Investments, LLC were on had for the announcement as well as Andrew Haines, president of the MAHL.

MAHL introduces Bob Langdon as League Referee-in-Chief

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced today that veteran referee Bob Langdon, has accepted the position of Referee-in-Chief for the upcoming 2008-2009 MAHL season.

Langdon, a veteran official of the National Hockey League, will immediately assume his new duties and begin organizing and recruiting linesmen and referees for the MAHL’s second season.

Chelsea Tornadoes hire veteran Chad Dameworth as new bench boss

CHELSEA, Mich – The Chelsea Tornadoes of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League are pleased to announce the hiring of veteran defenseman Chad Dameworth as their new head coach for the upcoming 2008-2009 MAHL season. 

Dameworth, a native of Marquette, Michigan and now resides in Novi, joins the Tornadoes after an 11-year career in professional hockey.  Dameworth began his professional career in 1995 in Cape Breton skating for the Edmonton Oilers’ AHL affiliate there.

Chelsea, MI Awarded MAHL Expansion Team

CHELSEA, MI – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced today the latest addition to the League’s roster of teams for the 2008-2009 season.

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League completed its spring meetings this past week and developed a comprehensive approach to opening its rosters to Canadian players.

MAHL Spring Meeting Review

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League successfully completed its annual spring meetings this weekend. The meetings focused on the MAHL’s second season which will begin with the opening of training camps on November 17, 2008. Vendors and equipment representatives attended the meetings and made proposals to the MAHL for the coming season.

MAHL Update 2

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League will conduct its annual ownership meeting on May 3rd and 4th in Canton, Ohio. The meeting will address the 2008-2009 MAHL season which is set to begin in November 2008. 

Additional items to be discussed include the pending announcements of two MAHL expansion teams in Michigan. The MAHL ownership meetings will review and consider equipment deals for the MAHL second season.
